The saltwater swimming pool (which is heated during our winter months) is extremely private for the discerning traveller. Here you can enjoy a good book on the sun lounges, soak up the tropical sunshine or simply escape from reality and unwind in peace.

Adults-only Accommodation

This Port Douglas accommodation is an adults-only haven for the sole traveller or couples seeking a quiet, comfortable and clean escape in the heart of Port Douglas. Your hosts Ken & Colin will ensure all the little things are taken care of including assistance with holiday planning, tours, restaurants as well as booking airport transfers.

“We returned to this property recently and found it under new management. Ken and Colin are friendly, personable and helpful hosts and the property was immaculate.

Martinique is a 19-studio apartment building with shared laundry facilities and parking. Airport transfers to/from Cairns are readily arranged by the managers. The location is less than 5 minutes walk from Four Mile Beach and 5 minutes walk in the other direction to the start of the village, with its numerous cafes, bars, restaurants, supermarket and shops.

The shared courtyard provides magazines and a book swap, filtered water, beach chairs, tour information, a barbeque and tables and chairs in an attractive area with tropical plantings and flowers. The pool and surrounds are well kept and rooms cleaned every four days with fresh bed and bathroom linen, although fresh towels and extras can be requested at any time. The kitchenette provides limited cooking facilities with a microwave and two-element cooktop and a small fridge. WIFI is variable in some areas, but improved coverage is being organized.

It is inevitable that there will be some noise from the pool and courtyard area, but mostly we found this to be minimal, as Martinique has a no-children policy, so guests tend to be couples and courtyard and pool areas are closed at a reasonable time of night.

Great place to base yourself in PD

“We stayed at Martinique for 8 nights – what a great place to base yourself – easy walk to beach, shops and restaurants. The rooms were immaculate, contained everything we needed and were quiet and private. Ken and Colin were gracious hosts and willingly organised anything we needed – tours, transfers etc. The gardens and pool were beautifully maintained and a pleasure to sit around.

Great Hotel

“My husband and I were lucky enough to be booked into this little gem by our travel agents. The location is superb, less than two minutes walk to the beach and two minutes to shops and restuarants in the other direction. The apartment had everything we needed should we have wanted to make a light meal however there were far to many lovely places to eat out.
Nothing was too much trouble for the owners of the hotel who were readily available to offer advice and help if required.
Hopefully we will get to visit Australia again, and if we do would have no hesitation in staying here again”

Lovely Boutique Apartment Hotel

Fabulous location and charming, lovely spotless apartment/hotel. Martinique on Macrossan is 1/2 block to Four Mile Beach and yet steps away from the center of town. Parking is included underneath the building and walking to all the restaurants and shops is so close. The best part is how quiet the location is–many rooms have private patios.

Ken & Colin, the owners, work endlessly to accommodate their customers. Ken helped my daughter and I book barrier reef and rainforest excursions. Also the grounds, especially the pool area are meticulously manicured.
